Vision
Wawox is a php-based Open Source-system, which can be used in Enterprise Content Management-projects of midsized companies or organizations with compareable requirements.
The system and it's extensions provide customers and distributors high usability, maximum flexibility and exciting transparency.
Wawox 2.6
Main topic for release 2.6 are improvements and extensions in integration, export and import of data. Especially following functions:
- Export of all contents including meta data in form of XML (for backup)
- Export function for print data as XML
- Extending of documentation
- Module prototype for quick development of own modules
- Demo of how to use Wawox as a CMS for Flash files with XML-templates

Wawox 2.7
Core aspects for release 2.7 are an optimization of knowledge management and searchengine-features. Including following points:
- Import function for the backup
- XML- and CSV-Import for database-data (data modules)
- Widget for creating and modifying data modules
- Use of categories to order data
- Extended use of keywords
- Semantic areas with mindmap-features
- Extended personalization: Assignment of contents to target groups (user groups)
- Optimization of full text search (only indexing of contents without template data), extended search possibilities (e.g. category filter, searching data module contents), anonymized storage of search enquiries, function to initialize index table used for search
- Definition of own meta data
- Optimizing search engine index of Wawox pages
- Automatized Google-Sitemap
- Newsletter module with personalized contents
- RSS function
- Video preview in asset-management and automized publishing of video (flash video, mpeg, wmv)
- At least 10 partners with reference projects on www.wawox.com

Wawox 2.8
Main theme for Wawox 2.8 are optimizations in publishing and workflows, e.g.:
- Starting page in Wawox backend with overview of todos and unpublished elements
- Function for duplicating themes and rubrics (accelerates rollout of new language versions)
- Optimized publishing workflow with intern task administrations
- Optimized multichannel-publishing: Enables different templates for different media types (e.g. base template for usual internet, special templates for WAP/PDA-pages)
- Internationalisation of Wawox' GUI and system documentation to DE, EN, FR, ES (more language versions welcome!)
- Information about modules and logic components of Wawox partners on www.wawox.com
Planned for August 2009
Wawox 3.0
The next major release will push Wawox in the direction of becoming more Enterprise Content Management System. Following features are planned at the moment:
- (Conigurable) archieving of contents
- Free defineable roles
- Workflows for publishing and managing company-processes like orders or vacation-forms
- Extended asset-management: File tree with varying depth of directories, simple image-manipulations (scale, crop), automized mass-import of media data
- Optimized stability (kind of transaction-rollback, service-logfile)
- Integration of a standard AJAX-framework like JQuery or Scriptaculous - any ideas?
- Webservices for data module-contents (SOAP)
- LDAP-connectivity
- Online-help for editors
- At least 30 Wawox partners with their reference projects on www.wawox.com
